What Are Essential Oils i.e., Healing Oils

"Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing." Ezekiel 47:12

 

Essential oils are aromatic substances found in specialized cells or glands in plants. these are vital fluids of the plant that is known as their life blood. When the substance is still in the plant, it is called an essence. This essence is used by the plant for protection from predators and to attract pollinators. Once the essence is extracted from the plant by distillation, the aromatic substance is referred to as an essential oil. They are called essential because they are necessary for the life of the plant and contain their essence. Essential oils contain the life force, intelligence, and healing capabilities. These oils are highly concentrated for example it takes about 220 pounds of lavender to produce a pound of lavender oil. Each essential oil has a unique composition of chemicals. This affects the smell, absorption, and effects on the body. as a person of both faith and science; I see the parallels between Gods work and man discovery and believe these works in tandem to create the wonders of the world. Essential oils are deeply grounded in both science and faith, scientific evidence tell me that these oils are as effective as pharmaceuticals with treating illnesses while faith tells me these connections go back thousands of years just as God intended.
